Before making their way into railroad museums, the 4-8-0 dominated rail-ways around the world from the United States to South Africa! Early versions of the 4-8-0 were introduced in the mid 19th century before becoming a main-stay in rail-yards with improved models in the 20th century. Their used varied from around the world from transporting goods to serving as passenger trains, the 4-8-0 held little back, and was a favorite amongst rail-yards during its prime.

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-4: Very Good based on visual appearance. The previous owner changed this to a Niagara Mohawk and weathered it. This item appears to have been operated sparingly, and displays overall signs of very light previous use. The paint is in great shape, and the rest of the unit displays a like-new overall finish.
